Mean bone height loss over time in individual patients. Th: 3 months post-augmentation, Ti: at implant installation, T1: 3 months after installation, T2: at prosthetic loading, T3: 1 year after installation, T4: 2 years after installation, T5: 3 years after installation, T6: 5 years after installation. In each patient, bone height changes showed high rates of bone resorption during the early period and in the first year after implant installation. Upon further follow-up, the bone height loss 3 years and 5 years post-installation did not differ significantly (p < 0.05)
